Grinds Coffee Pouches – Spearmint Review

Grinds Coffee Pouches SpearmintBack this Super Bowl Sunday with another review from our friends at Grinds – this time Grinds Spearmint Coffee Pouches! I was first introduced to Grinds back in 2013 when they were featured on ABC’s Shark Tank. and I’ve been loving their products ever since. Here’s all of my previous reviews:

Some standard info to get out of the way that I include in all my Grinds reviews. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re made out of coffee grinds. All flavors of Grinds are pouch products so you don’t have to deal with cleanup or spitting if you don’t want to. The pouch itself you can’t swallow but the juices themselves are completely safe. What you’re essentially doing is brewing coffee in your mouth. Each Grinds pouch has the caffeine equivalent of a 1/4 cup of coffee. This is an important note I like to point out for those folks who can’t have caffeine.

NOTE: It’s been suggested that my reviews are pretty similar to one another as I tend to include quite a bit of the same info in many of them. That’s actually by design. I know that not everyone reads all of my reviews. I like to make them so they’re stand alone so you don’t have to ‘follow along’ some narrative from review to review.

Grinds Spearmint Coffee Pouches Ingredients

From the label on the can: Coffee, Water, Glycerin, N&A Flavoring, Caffeine, Taurine, Glucurolactone, B-Vitamins, Acesulfame Potassium, Sodium Carbonate, Potassium Sorbate

Grinds packaging is a high quality round plastic tin. They’re a little larger than your traditional Kodiak, Skoal or Copenhagen cans but there are no flimsy cans that you will crush here. Additionally, the top of the can pops off presumably for you to put your used pouches (or maybe save them?) Each can also has an ingredients list and a “best before” date imprinted on it which I absolutely appreciate. Other alternative manufacturers should take note of this.

Grinds Spearmint Coffee Pouches – Thoughts & Recommendation

These are really good. They’re minty, which candidly I didn’t think would be possible with a coffee product. You get quite a bit of that coffee aroma when you open the can but once you pop in a pouch or two most of that coffee flavor is gone, replaced with a really refreshing spearmint flavor.

As with all Grinds products, there’s a TON of super dark brown saliva that’s produced if you choose to spit, but remember you don’t have to. In fact I’d go so far as to say you’re not supposed to spit. The flavor of these pouches last quite a while – at least 20 minutes during my test run. I always test with two pouches but the spearmint flavor is strong enough that one is sufficient.

I’ve said in some of my Grinds reviews in the past that if you don’t like coffee you may not like them. This really isn’t the case here – if you’re looking for a spearmint pouch this is a REALLY good one to try.
