Jake’s Mint Chew Clementine Pouches Review

Jake's Mint Chew Clementine SquareBack this morning with a few reviews of Jake’s Mint Chew products. It’s been all baseball all the time for the Chewie family this summer (two boys in travel and another in little league) so I’m way behind on my reviews. That said, I’m committed to getting caught up!

In any case, today I’m sampling and reviewing Jake’s Mint Chew Clementine Pouches.

Jake’s continues to be remarkably consistent with their products. All of their pouch products use the same pouch material and produce a good amount of saliva even if the pouch itself isn’t super moist to begin with. They have a SLEW of flavors out there and whether you like them or not really boils down to personal preference if you like the specific flavor. I haven’t gone back and checked but I THINK it’s fair to say that they have the largest variety of flavors of any alternative manufacturer out there.

As I always do I tested using TWO pouches which seems about right in terms of flavor and longevity of the chew. For context I used to get about six dips out of a can of Kodiak. Citrus fake dips, for me, are sort of hit and miss. I either really like them or really don’t. This one is in the former… GREAT citrus smell upon opening. Not orange which it shouldn’t be. It’s been quite some time since I’ve actually eaten a clementine but they’re not as sweet as oranges so these shouldn’t be either. I have to say I think Jake’s nailed not only the smell but the flavor profile here. Not as sweet as orange products out there and not as bitter as some lemon products. These are right in the sweet spot (excuse the pun) where clementine should be.

I once again have to commend Jake’s on one thing – all of their products provide enough saliva for a long lasting chew. I don’t spit when using these pouches but you certainly could. When you give these a ‘push’ you’ll get a nice little burst of flavor which will give you another 10 minutes or so out of the dip. I’m a big fan of these. Strong recommend.
