Mobile Chat Now Available!

Mobile ChatEver since it was founded in November of 2006, one of the main goals of KillTheCan.org is to provide information and tools to folks out there looking to quit smokeless tobacco.  Along with the forums (which just recently passed 1.5 MILLION posts and is coming up on 12,000 members), one of the most utilized tools in our quit arsenal is the live quitter chat.  It is quite simply the fastest way to get support if you’re in dire need.  But if you’re not craving super bad, it’s also the home to some of the best quitters on the site (not to mention some of the biggest degenerates… but I digress 😉 )

The biggest downfall of chat is that it couldn’t be accessed on a mobile device such as an iPhone, iPad or Android device.  Until now.

You asked for it, and now we’ve got it… mobile chat.  I’m proud to announce that our chat is now officially mobile friendly with the release of the 123 Flash Chat App which can be downloaded for free!

Once you’ve downloaded the app, it’s pretty simple.  You’ll be asked for your Chat ID (which for KillTheCan.org is 198).  Once you’ve logged in successfully, single sign-on will be enabled and next time you can enter the same chat room automatically without being required to enter the chat ID again.  How cool is that?!?!

With this new mobile chat, you’ll still be able to have the majority of features you’re familiar with including private messages, member lists, multiple rooms, etc.  As part of the upgrade that was necessary for this mobile chat feature to work, we also picked up a few other nice bells and whistles.  We’ve added Social Connect which will allow you to login with your Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo or Google account.

NOTE: With this upgrade, some users who have used chat previously are running into problems with the chat loading.  You’ll need to clear your browser cache and restart your browser to enter chat.

So fire up your iPad, iPhone or Android and get chatting!
