Success In Simplicity – Worth the Fight

The Road To Success - Commitment

Guys are supposed to be simple so that’s how I try to approach KTC. Post roll daily on a handful of boards/rolls; text daily with fellow quitters; PM quitters I admire; don’t forget how I got here. Please try to stick with me as I ramble through this HOF speech.

For years, I read that counseling or a support group would dramatically increase my chances of quitting and remaining quit. “That’s not for me,” I always thought. “I don’t do that kind of thing. I can do it on my own. I don’t need anyone else’s help.” See all of the “I’s” in there? Don’t trust yourself. We’re addicts. I’m so happy I turned my quit over to the experts here at KTC and did exactly what they said.

I keep my quit fresh by being active on KTC every day.

I keep my quit simple by doing what KTC folks advise.

I quit for myself but had plenty of other motivators, including deaths of two close friends that happened during my first 100 days (not nicotine related). I think about them every day. They remind me of my mortality and my place in the world. Their deaths still hurt me but they hurt their direct siblings even more. That reminds me of the pain I would cause if I gave myself cancer by continuing to use this junk.

You know how you see your child or nephew grow up – you don’t notice they’re growing because it happens little-by-little every day. Nicotine degraded my life little by little every day – so slowly that I didn’t even realize how much it had hurt me. In fact, I didn’t realize it until I was weeks into my quit with KTC (weird because I thought I knew how bad it was).

This is hardest thing I’ve ever done and it’s worth it. For those of you who might be new quitters or people thinking of quitting, please consider this – my life has improved dramatically over the last 160+ days since quitting with KTC. I never realized life would get so much better – and I even thought my life with nicotine was pretty darn good. The same could be true for you. Are you ready to fight for it?

Be active on KTC every day.

Do what KTC brothers and sisters tell you to do.

Isn’t that simple?
