The GoBlue Way – A Quitter’s Memoirs
New quitters or if you’re contemplating quitting:
Joining this website and deciding to FINALLY quit tobacco is the BEST decision I have ever made in my life. I (like you) have tried to quit on numerous occasions, and the support and accountability gained from this website are what made the difference, and I’ve gained new friends here that I know I can call anytime at all, and they will stop what they are doing and pick up the phone if I’m in need… and I’d do the same … hell I’m PROUD to do it. It’s the least I can do.
My story is similar to a lot that you’ll see on here. I started young, hid it from many people, made a mess in my car and on clothes, spent way too much of my HARD EARNED money, disappointed my child and wife, disappointed myself. WHY? Why do something so SELF DESTRUCTIVE. There is absolutely nothing good about dipping, it was all a myth that a deceptive little nicotine whore wove into my thoughts and attempted to make it gospel. My eyes are open now, and I’ll never close them again.
Special thanks to Ansaka, a fellow Wolverine fan, and someone who has helped me to stay quit during this journey. Thanks to Stretch for turning me on to this site and setting me down the path of enlightenment. Thanks also to ProfessorPinch, Pista, and of course SamCat!
I thought I’d do something special for my HOF speech, so here it is. Below are the lyrics to “I Will Survive”, with the entire November 2009 HOF group inserted. I really hope I didn’t miss anyone, it’s a big group. If you sing it like the song goes, it’s great haha. The names are mostly in order of quit date, with a little shuffling for cause. ENJOY!
