E-cigarette Usage Surges – Not Getting People Off Tobacco
More Americans are using e-cigarettes than a year ago. Most of those consumers are also smoking conventional cigarettes. Yet another chink in the armor of the vaping community who continually points to these products as a healthier way to get people to quit smoking. The bottom line… people aren’t quitting smoking, they’re just vaping too!
Findings from a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll support evidence that smokers are using BOTH traditional tobacco products and e-cigarettes to deliver nicotine, rather than giving up traditional cigarettes altogether.
“About 10 percent of U.S. adults now vape, according to the online Reuters/Ipsos poll of 5,679 Americans conducted between May 19 and June 4. That’s almost four times higher than a U.S. government estimate that 2.6 percent of adults used e-cigarettes in 2013.”
Vapers are twice as likely as the general population to think the devices are “healthier than the traditional cigarettes”. Um… excuse me for using vernacular of my 9 year old, but, “Duh”. This is addict speak in its purest form. They’ve been sold a bill of goods and bought it hook, line and sinker.
