Jake’s Mint Chew Maple Bourbon Pouches Review

Jake's Mint Chew Maple Bourbon SquareI’m not sure what it was about Maple Bourbon but I had a hunch that I’d like it… and boy was I correct. Now that I’ve buried the lead, I’m back this evening with a review of new(ish?) flavor from Jake’s Mint Chew. I say ‘ish’ only because I don’t recall when it was made available.

In any case, today I’m sampling and reviewing Jake’s Mint Chew Maple Bourbon Pouches.

For these flavored dips my #1 priority when it comes to grading these is this: Do they taste like the flavor they’re supposed to taste like? If a dip passes that test, then it’s down to the subjectivity of if you enjoy that particular flavor.

I’m happy to say that once again, Jake’s has nailed the flavor in my opinion. These Maple Bourbon Pouches do indeed taste like maple and bourbon. If I’m being they may smell like maple syrup more than they taste like it, but smell and taste go hand in hand. All Jake’s pouches are very consistent, use the same material and produce a good amount of saliva.

As I always do, I tested using two pouches. This seems right to me in terms of flavor and longevity of the chew. For context I used to get about six to eight dips out of a can of Kodiak. These smell simply outstanding. As soon as I cracked the seal I got a big whiff of maple syrup. Yum.

As with all Jake’s products these created more than enough saliva for a long lasting chew. I don’t spit when using these pouches but you certainly could. When you give these a ‘push’ you’ll get a nice little burst of flavor which will give you another 10 minutes or so out of the dip. If I’m being honest, I think I liked these more than I thought I would. Recommend for sure.
