About KillTheCan.org

Since 2006, KillTheCan has helped people quit smokeless tobacco, nicotine pouches, vaping, cigarettes, and nicotine addiction through accountability, community, and support.

2019 PA Meet Feature

What started as a small online community focused on quitting dip has grown into one of the longest-running quit nicotine communities on the internet. Over the years, thousands of people have used KillTheCan to quit nicotine, stay accountable, and support others trying to do the same.

At its core, KillTheCan has always been built around one simple idea:

People helping people quit nicotine.

Our Story

KillTheCan was founded in 2006 by people who had successfully quit smokeless tobacco and wanted to help others do the same.

At the time, there were very few online resources built around real-world accountability and community support for people trying to quit dip and chewing tobacco. Most people trying to quit were doing it alone.

KillTheCan was created to change that.

What began as a small group sharing quit dates and daily accountability quickly grew into a larger community built around support, encouragement, honesty, and shared experience.

As nicotine products evolved over the years, so did the community. Today, KillTheCan supports people quitting smokeless tobacco, nicotine pouches, vaping, cigarettes, and nicotine addiction in all its forms.

Why KillTheCan Works

Quitting nicotine is difficult.

Cravings, stress, routines, triggers, relapse, and isolation can make quitting feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to do it alone.

KillTheCan is different because the support comes from people who have actually been there.

Our community is built around:

  • Accountability
  • Shared experience
  • Daily support
  • Encouragement
  • Honesty
  • Community

Many members check in daily, share milestones, celebrate victories, and help support newer quitters during difficult days.

For many people, knowing they are not alone makes all the difference.

I get pain in my lower jaw that last about 3or4 seconds that is enough to quit anything. Haven’t had a dip in about 6 weeks but it is getting better. R.p.
