Keep Me Accountable Day In and Day Out

Every Day

Thank you to everyone here for helping keep me accountable day in and day out.

It’s funny how God works sometimes. I knew I needed to quit, and while searching for ways to finally stop, I stumbled across this page. I had tried quitting before, but I never truly took it seriously. This time was different.

I’m happy to say I never want to go back to that damn can. Looking back, having to plan my day around whether I had enough nicotine to make it through was crazy. It had gotten to a point where it was controlling more of my life than I wanted to admit.

My biggest trigger was stress, and my job comes with plenty of it. Over time, nicotine stopped helping and started making everything worse, especially my anxiety.

Today marks 100 days nicotine-free, and I’m proud of that. My next goal is 365 days and a full year away from the bullshit.

One thing that’s helped me a ton is simply walking every day. Whether it’s 30–60 minutes or 7,500–10,000 steps, it takes the edge off, clears my head, and has helped me start losing some weight for my wedding next February.

If you’re thinking about quitting, my advice is simple: do it. The first few weeks can be rough, but it does get better. One day at a time.

Cheers to 100 days. On to 365.
