A Message To the Retread From Another Retread

DWEIRICK – Day 94

This message is for the caver, the on the edge of caving or anyone who can’t stop being a slave to a damn dead plant in a can. I speak on this topic since it is one, I hold closely to my heart being a two-time retread myself. I have talked shit with the best of them and dragged weak ass quitters through the mud for not taking this seriously or for avoiding accountability, yet I found myself on the retread aisle. Now how the hell did that happen? It happened because I failed to abide by the very things I was preaching all along. I failed to truly appreciate how serious quitting is and the fact that it is life and death no matter how you try to spin it. I would always fall back to one dip will make things easier or I need this one fix to get through whatever BS I was going through at that time. Pathetic addict talk 110 percent all the way around.

Here is the truth behind caving and it is not pretty at all. Truth of it is no situation is ever helped, eased or navigated any better with the use of nicotine. All that is just some bullshit our minds have cemented in place to protect our shit addiction to this deadly chemical. It is shit, cowardly, weak and will not have any positive effect on your life ever. As soon as you accept that your quit will become a little less overbearing. Quitting is hard as fuck and anyone that tells you any different is lying or never truly quit, but it is one of the most rewarding things I have done with my life thus far. Some people get multiple attempts at quitting and others never quit in time and their life is ripped short. Why gamble any longer, why take that risk when quitting and staying quit is an option? Will it be easy, hell no, will it take everything you have? Yes, it will, but it sure beats laying in a hospital bed withering away to nothing while you wished you would’ve just stuck it out in the beginning and stayed quit. If I scared you, good because some of us only get one shot and others never get a chance to break free. If you want to know the true cost of caving, reach out to someone who already has caved, and I assure you if they are still active here, they will give you a million reasons why it is not worth it…
