Dweirick (Sep 25) – Day 365

Dweirick 365 Days - 6.16.2026 Feature

I have failed miserably here at KTC in the past. I said the right things, made promises, disappeared, came back, justified my bullshit, and acted like wanting to quit was the same thing as actually quitting. It wasn’t.

Looking back, I was never fully committed. I still had exits planned. I still wanted the comfort of knowing nicotine was there if things got hard. I never truly burned my boats.

This quit is different because I finally owned my part in all of it. No excuses. No blaming stress, life, timing, work, or circumstances. I was the one putting the dip in. I was the one protecting the addiction.

So this time I burned the boats. I stopped entertaining “just one.” I stopped romanticizing chew. I stopped acting like I could negotiate with something that had kicked my ass over and over again. I accepted that if I wanted a different life, nicotine couldn’t come with me.

I also had to rebuild some bridges. Trust isn’t restored because you say you’re sorry—it’s rebuilt by showing up consistently and doing what you said you were going to do. Day after day. Quietly.

One year later, I’m proud of the result, but I’m even more proud that I finally got honest with myself.

The biggest change wasn’t quitting nicotine. It was quitting the mindset that kept sending me back to it.

If you’re coming off a cave, own it, learn from it, and get back to work. One bad day doesn’t define you. What you do afterward does.

A huge thank you to my fellow MUGs and all of our supporters. Without all of you, KTC wouldn’t be nearly as effective, and many of us would still be hopelessly addicted and making excuses for it.

365 days.
No negotiations.
No exits.
No boats left to return to.
