Jake’s Mint Chew Holiday Flavor Pack!

Jake's Mint Chew Holiday PackJust a couple of weeks ago I posted a review of two new seasonal flavors from our friends at Jake’s Mint Chew – Bacon and Pumpkin. In that review (you can read it here) I talked about how awesome I thought it was that the folks at Jake’s continue to innovate and produce new flavors on a regular basis.

Well, they’re back at it again with their limited time only Holiday Flavor Pack which contains two NEW flavors: Gingerbread and Eggnog! These flavors will only be available until the New Years so if you like what you read below head on over to their site and snag them quickly.

I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat it again here. Whether you’re a fan of flavored chews or not, you’ve got to applaud the folks at Jake’s for continuing to innovate when it comes to their flavors. Well done.

Let’s get into it. Here are my initial thoughts on Gingerbread and Eggnog.

Jake’s Mint Chew Gingerbread Pouches Review

I’m not a big gingerbread fan so I started here. Smell was nice when opening the can. Some ginger overtones coming through for sure but still quite a bit of mint as well which I’ve come to expect with Jake’s products. Pouches are nice and moist and hold their flavor for a nice long while. Lots of dark brown spit produced if you choose to spit but with these you don’t need to. Decent flavor here but not really up my ally. I’ll be interested to hear from someone who’s a gingerbread fan to see what sort of feedback they have. This is a reasonable representation flavor wise, just not for me.

Jake’s Mint Chew Eggnog Pouches Review

This is the one that I was looking forward to. While I’m not a gingerbread guy I’m CERTAINLY an eggnog guy and this one smelled straight up PERFECT from the time the can cracked open. A warm and sweet flavor comes through as soon as you pop one in with maybe some caramel smells and tastes as well. Unlike the gingerbread there’s no mint smell coming through with this one. That mint taste comes through after a while but the first 10-15 minutes of this chew it’s a nice spicy eggnog flavor. I point out ‘spicy’ there because I didn’t anticipate that with this one. Not sure what they’re using to get that but if you really ‘work’ the pouch (or pouches… I tested with at least two) in your mouth you’ll get a burst of not only flavor but also a ‘kick’ of spice. This would be really nice when decorating for the holidays, working in the yard or as a nice after dinner treat. Well done.

The ingredients list from the can is the same on both flavors: glycerin, organic vegetable oil, organic and natural flavors, water, xylitol, organic gum acacia, citric acid.

These flavors are currently available and will only be sticking around for about a month until the new year rolls around. As they were with Pumpkin and Bacon, Jake’s is once again the first alternative maker to market with these particular flavors. If you’re looking for a couple of good stocking stuffers for the quitters on your holiday shopping list these would be great. Jake’s Mint Chew can be found on the web at www.jakesmintchew.com
