Mission Statement - Why We're All Here... - back to top
This site and community are designed to help people quit using smokeless tobacco. This includes all brands & types of chew, dip, snuff & spit tobacco. We are here to make this incredibly difficult journey attainable for you. We understand how difficult it is and how difficult it will be. How do we know? Because we, like you, are addicts. We are not "former addicts". We will always be addicts... now we are addicts who no longer chew tobacco.

We are here to provide a forum where your questions will get answered, where your fears will be dispelled, and your anxiety will be dissipated. We will offer any help that we can. We will help YOU quit the way you need to quit.

We realize that there are a variety of ways to be successful quitting chew. We will NOT tell you that one way is better than another, but we will tell you our experience and what has worked for us. We will also tell you when you are doing something counterproductive to your quit. This quit is for you and about you. We are simply here to aid you along your journey. If you need "tough love" we will give that. If you need encouragement we will give that. If you need to be scared into quitting we will do that.

Although this is a website dedicated to quitting smokeless tobacco, we understand our addiction centers around nicotine. Therefore the smoking of cigarettes, cigars or pipes is not acceptable to us during our smokeless tobacco quit.

We recognize that people need to be on this journey their own way. We also realize that TOGETHER we will all be more successful.

Quit Groups - What do they mean? - back to top
Welcome to QS Xtreme! We hope that you find this site to be just the solution you were looking for in your journey to find the everlasting quit! One of the most important things you will encounter with this site are the quit groups. Once you have registered you must find your quit group. A quit group is the group of members with whom you will hit your 100 day Hall of Fame mark. So you must figure out in which month your 100th day will fall, and this will be your appropriate month. You will discover that these other members in your quit group, or your Brothers and Sisters, as we commonly refer to them, will become your greatest weapon in the battle against the demon. The longer you remain quit, the closer the bond you form with them will become. They will be like family to you, and in some cases, may get to know you better than your local friends. Now of course, just because you are in a certain quit group, this does not mean you have to remain in the confines of your own group. Feel free to post outside of your group, but always remember where you call home. We wish you the best of luck in your journey and your quit, and we hope you utilize all of the tools which have been placed at your disposal here. For it will make all the difference.

Roll Call - Why we do it... - back to top
Roll call is the most important thing you will do here. That one simple act will be what makes this quit different than any other attempt. Roll call, quite simply, is a promise to your brothers that you will be Nicotine Free for that day.

We require a simple one day at a time philosophy. Make roll call, concentrate on today and today only. Well work through the troubles of today with you. Well worry about tomorrow when it gets here.

Roll call will build accountability with your brothers. You know that the man next to you in line is going through or has dealt with the exact same things you are. Lean on the knowledge of those who have walked that road. Develop relationships with them and especially the guys in your home group. These people will save your life if you let them.

If you follow this simple advice youll be amazed. You have lied to, cheated on, and stole time from every single person you hold dear. You take roll call seriously, and you will find that total strangers will give your quit more accountability than any real person in your world.

If you want to quit, deep down, really want to quitroll call is the cornerstone you will build your quit house on. Be loyal to yourself, your group, and ultimately to QSX as a whole and you shall have the freedom you desire. Guaranteed.

Hall of Fame Speeches - What it is and why we do it - back to top
Congratulations!
As you approach your 100th day of being quit, it is important that you seriously consider putting pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, and create your Hall of Fame speech!

What is a Hall of Fame speech you ask? It is different for every person. Some take the opportunity to recap their journey, from being a slave to nicotine to being free. Others thank the people who have been instrumental in helping them successfully beat their addiction. We thank our friends and families, our quit brothers and sisters. Still, others incorporate it all into one.

There is no set format, no rules to follow, no mold to fill. This is your chance to express your feelings and mark your 100th day of being free from smokeless tobacco! It truly is a great milestone and you deserve to commemorate it!

We all look forward to reading yours!

The Playground - Objects of Mass Distraction - back to top
Welcome to QS Xtreme. One of our forums is "The Playground." This is a place of distraction from the day to day quit. Your quit group should be a place where everyone can come for support. The Playground can be a bit more provacative. Everything from Hobbies to Politics can be found here. If there is a specific topic you'd like to see please request it.

Be careful early in your quit, some topics should be avoided until you're ready to rumble.

The Veterans - Why we stay around after 100 days - back to top
As you read through the different quit groups and forums on this site, you will notice a very common thread...many of the members here are well past that seemingly magic 100 days, or H.O.F. membership. Why do so many of them continue to post in this site on a daily basis?

First, and foremost, each one of us continues everyday to fight the nicotine bitch. We all recognize that we are just winning daily battles, but the war remains to be fought every single day.

Secondly, we feel we owe this community and the veterans who came before us. The guys who walked with us while we were fighting the craves, when the nic bitch was trying to convince us we could not make it through the day without a dip. It's our time to be here to pass on that tradition and help you begin to change your life as we have been helped.

Finally, we are here because of the friendships and bonds that walking down this trying road together builds.

So, come on in and get started. We will be here to help and support you every step of the way.
