Ode To The Quitter

Ode to Day 79 – Quitters Helping Quitters

Skateboarding Magazine 1979So last night I’m on chat, and in pops a new quit.
It was the end of day one, and he’s feeling like shit!
We know where he’s at, we been there before.
Dealing with the Fog from the evil nic-bitch whore.
The kid was real young, 18 if I’m right,
Real proud of him for steppin’ to this fight!
He’d quit before, that’s what he had said.
Hope this one’s for real, hate to hear him dead.
But what was cool to see, was the quitters playing their part,
Big shout out goes to the screen-name CMARK.
Cmark told the kid to give him a ring,
He was gonna show him how to do the KTC thing.
And that brought to mind what CMARK did for me,
79 days ago, he showed me the key!
So CMARK, today you’re one helluva hero
And tomorrow my’s ass is postin’ day EIGHT – ZERO!!!

PS: Today’s photo is a cover of Skateboarding Magazine from 1979

Hello: I stumbled across this blog as I was online looking for ways to help my 16 year old son WANT to quit chewing. He started up this year and I have caught him a few times with cans on him. Every time he promises me he will quit, but then he is caught by school, another parent in our small town seeing him spit into a bottle, or by me. I was a smoker once and know how hard it is to quit. I was glad to see that an 18 year old connected with you on this site as I wanted to recommend this to my son, but was worried it was mostly for adults. I fully understand that he needs to want to quit for himself, but I was wondering if you might have any suggestions for me as to how to help him reach this point? He is 16 and not interested in being honest with his parents…in his mind he is in control and every one does it, it’s no big deal. Help and suggestions anyone?!

thanks
