Is there a ‘best’ way to quit dipping? That can be debated. But that’s not why I’m here today. At KillTheCan.org we have never said that our way is for everyone. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it’s not. Our ‘no holds barred’ or ‘take no prisoners’ attitude toward quitting rubs some folks the wrong way. Quite frankly… we’re OK with that. What I can say is that our methods work.
Earlier this week we celebrated the 13th anniversary of the creation of our accountability forums. As we’ve done in years past we created a One Day Only Site Wide Roll Call. It acts as a yearly reminder of just how many allies you have behind you in your fight to beat you addiction.
I’m thrilled to report just what we saw on that roll… it’s pretty staggering:
- 241 Quitters Posted 278,987 Days Quit for a total of 764.35 Years Quit
- If we average 1.5 cans a day at $5.00 per can average per quitter, that is 418,481 cans of dip NOT chewed for a whopping $2,092,405.00 taken from big tobacco.
Those are real numbers folks… from real people who are battling their addiction on a daily basis. We won’t suggest we’re ‘cured’ because we’re not. But we’re quit and we prove it every single day by giving our word to ourselves and to one another.
When you’re ready to quit – we’ll be here to help you.
