I joined this forum late in my quit at 60 days. As a result, I didn’t get the chance to get to know many of the quitters or the people who keep this great site running. So first off I’d like to congratulate all you guys who have decided to quit this awful addiction to nicotine. Secondly, I’d like to thank all the people who work so hard to keep this site going. You are doing a fantastic job!
This site has taught me one important thing. Something that I needed to learn and something that will keep me quit for the rest of my life. This site taught me that I AM AN ADDICT. I wasn’t just a guy who liked to chew spit tobacco and wanted to quit and did it. I was and still am addicted to nicotine. I always will be addicted to nicotine because I allowed myself to get addicted over 30 years ago. I can’t dabble in this stuff and use it every once in a while because I am just like the alcoholic who can’t allow himself just one drink and I am just like the meth head who can’t ever use again. I am a drug addict. We all are here on this forum.
Stay quit guys. Your life really does depend on it. You can no longer use nicotine in any form because you are an ADDICT and WILL go back to using every day if you do.
Sucks, but true.
